The following is an email I just got from my T’s office…. I can only guess what health issues would be so bad. Cancer? Read on….

It is with deepest regret I write to inform you that BA has retired from …. effective immediately, due to health reasons. We wish B well as he continues to manage his own medical needs.

All appointments are cancelled at this time. Please look for an email or phone call from our clinic coordinator, JS, to discuss scheduling with a new provider, referral to another agency, or case closure, per your preference at this time.

I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and know that we are working to ensure a smooth transition of services.

Wow that’s rather abrupt and so sudden. Could be many things going on there that we just don’t know about. How sad for everyone involved.

Yeah. It has been 3 weeks since I’ve seen him. At first, they said he was sick and he’d reach out to schedule appointments. Other than that, it’s so cryptic!

We texted about my kids and a small bit about me and his retirement. He was vague about his sudden illness so I didn’t ask. Just said I hope he has a lovely retirement.

Now that he’s retired I sent him a pic of each of my kids, as we’d talked about them in therapy. They were photos from the wedding. He liked them.

I have this bad feeling that he’s got cancer or something else life-shortening hence his retiring so quickly after saying he was sick. But I’ll wait until he tells me what’s up or not.

Just wondering if it’s appropriate to text him anymore.

I wouldn't keep texting him. If he's got some illness, he probably doesn't want to be bothered. I think it's time to move on.
