I have chronic severe insomnia and low/varying appetite and although I feel like shyt I also want to eat (like out of hunger not emotions) and sleep (like out of tiredness not passive suicidality) which is unusual territory for me.

By "stims" do you mean stimulants? Drugs/meds? Red Bull? What exactly is it?

Stimulants of any variety with a significant comedown that is either too exhausting to stay awake or not horrible enough to have to stay awake (like sobriety).
So adhd meds, meth, caffeine, etc. not crack because that’s not tiring enough and it’s too hard on the cravings.

OK, thanks for clarifying.

Perhaps someone else will know if they're healthy.. I don't know myself.

I take an antidepressant called mirtazepine - it makes me hungry and sleepy. Maybe you could speak to your doctor about that?

Insomnia is rough... some people take seroquel for sleep... it's non-addictive.

Seroquel makes me wake up after 30 minutes in a cold sweat from dreams like my case manager kidnapped and decapitated me or I was sent to work in a research lab and my job was burning people's perineums with acid. DXM is tame compared to vividness, graphic nature, and detail of seroquel dreams.

Also Doxepin. Used for sleep maintenance and causes increased appetite in some people. An antidepressant, too, but used in low doses for sleep, on label.
